Resident Evil: Revelations 2’s Co-Op is Offline Only
The storyline of Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will have no connection to the first title, Capcom has revealed.
Speaking with 4Gamer recently, the game’s producers – Kawata, Okabe and Anpo, talked about the sequel and what players can expect from it. While many were perhaps hoping for a continuation specially after the way the first Revelations ended, Capcom has no plans to do so in the second installment.
Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will feature various locations on the island, all of which will be fully accessible to the player for exploration. There’s no telling what you might find hiding in a corner.
In the single-player mode, players have the option of switching between both characters on the fly. Regarding the co-op mode though, it will only be available as offline, which is strange and may come as a surprise.
While the initial reveals have showcased Moira Burton as more of a support character, Capcom states that she’s actually going to have a large role to play in the game’s story. The producers described her as being unstable and proving difficult to cope with in the start, which makes her relation with Claire a bit rocky.
Finally, there’s more to the game’s slogan “Evil is Watching” than what meets the eye. There’s apparently a mysterious person who is monitoring Claire and Moira’s movements using cameras setup throughout the island.
Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is scheduled for release early next year and will have players starting with no weapons at all.
