Riot has released a new video showcasing the upcoming League of Legends champion Azir, The Emperor of Sands. This new video is over nine minutes long and provides you with a background, skins, abilities and related details on this new champion.

Azir is the ruler of Shuriman Desert and now he looking to return his kingdom, his people and himself back to the glory. He is actually a mage, who has the ability to summon sand soldiers and they will be attacking for Azir whenever commanded to do so.

This new ruler has two passives – first one is cool down reduction while the second one is the Sun Disk that can be used in place of broken turrets, and it will do the same task (that of a turret) but for a limited period of time.

Developers have also shown how the abilities of this upcoming mage are going to work in the game. It’s all in the video, check it out.

Currently, there is no release date for the new champion but hopefully, Riot will release Azir sooner rather than later.
