Connichi, which is an annual anime event held in Germany was the source of some exciting news regarding a Wii U version of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.

At the event, fans took pictures of a banner indicating a Wii U release of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. The images were posted on twitter and you can see them here and here.

The images show a Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Logo in the middle and a Wii U sign on the top right corner of the banner. Before you get too excited, let me tell you that Capcom has confirmed that there is a “misprint” on the banner and the game isn’t coming to Wii U.

Capcom Associate online/community Specialist Yuri Araujo cleared things up in a brief message:

“It’s a misprint,” said Yuri Araujo. MH4U is still 3DS-only, we’re working on a proper message to defuse this, so we should have something more public and official out soon.”

MH4U is the second installment in the series to be released on Nintendo 3DS and the game heavily emphasizes on three dimensional gameplay with fully integrated online multiplayer.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is scheduled to hit Japan on October 11 while North American and European fans will have to wait till early 2015 to get their hands on the title exclusively on 3DS.
