Destiny Becomes Fastest Selling New IP of UK Replacing Watch Dogs
It has been five days since Bungie unleashed its monstrous new first person shooter to the world, and it is already making records.
The one we are talking about right now is the record for the fastest selling new IP in the United Kingdom. Previously, Watch Dogs was the mighty record holder in the UK – not any more though! Destiny sales have put it on the throne.
It was announced recently by a press release issued by Chart Track, a UK based retail tracking company that Destiny is now the king of the new IPs in terms of fastest sales and the best one at it in the history of United Kingdom.
While the latest figures of sales have not been shared by officials, the press release has given a breakdown saying that 46% of the total sales were attributed to PlayStation 4 as opposed to Xbox One’s 36%. Xbox 360 and PS3 followed with 14% and 4% respectively.
Just to give you an idea about what we might be looking at, let me tell you that Bungie confirmed to have shipped stock worth $500 million to retailers on the launch day. I am guessing many of the retailer would be worrying about stock outs now.
The said company also released the sales chart for this year where we can see fruit of Destiny sales, which is fairly juicier than The Sims 4 as well as Watch Dogs. Here’s the full list:
02. The Sims 4
03. Watch Dogs
04. Call of Duty: Ghosts
05. The Last of Us: Remastered
06. Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition
07. NHL 15
08. Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare
09. Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition
10. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution
Have you played Destiny? What do you think about the amount of content that the game has been shipped with, was it worth all the hype or should there have been more content?
