New Fatal Frame Wii U Trailer Shows Gameplay Features and New Characters
Nintendo has released a trailer for the upcoming Fatal Frame Wii U. The game is the fifth installment in the long running series and will be exclusive to the Wii U. Emerging from the survival horror genre the title is set for a September 27 release in Japan.
Now, the gameplay trailer in question provides a more in-depth look at this horror adventure title in addition to revealing two new playable characters Miu Hinasaki and Ren Houjou.
Hinasaki is the missing girl which the players will be tasked to look for at the start of the game and Houjou is a person investigating the intellectual work of an ethnologist.
The better part of the trailer revolves around the series famous “Camera Obscura” and showing some in-game functionality of the iconic device. If you have played any of the previous entries in the series, you will know that this camera is the primary tool our female protagonist Yuuri Kozukata has to fight against the unwelcoming spirits.
Yuuri also has the ability to see the past history of certain objects and can bring people back to life.
If you’re wondering how a camera can help defeat evil spirits, then let me clear things up for you. Holding the camera up and snapping at appropriate moments will harm the enemy. Camera Obscura has the unique power to exorcise.
Apart from being used in the exploration section of the game, players are able to fend off hostile ghosts with the help of the camera and are also able to capture lingering spirits and receive valuable information from ghosts that wish to communicate.
Wii U gamepad plays a critical role for achieving ideal photographic angles by tilting the gamepad and the viewfinder can be brought over the present in-game view by holding it up.
No information of a release outside of Japan is mentioned yet but we will keep you informed of any further developments. Keep coming back to Segmentnext for all your Fatal Frame coverage.
