Xbox One October System Update – New Friends Section, Snap Updates and More

If you think August update was a big one, you might want to think again as details regarding Xbox One October System Update have been revealed and it’s full of new features.

From Multitasking to new ways to stay connected with friends, from DLNA support to the addition of fresh Smartglass features, this update is bringing along a ton of features the fans have asked for.

So lets talk about some of the new additions in detail.

First up is the the new friends section, you will now be able to see what your gaming buddies are up to, what popular games are they playing and a gamerscore leaderboard to let you know which one of them has improved their scores over the past 30 days.

The Snap center is updated and player can now have much faster access to Friends, Game DVR, Clock along with Battery Indicator.

“A double tap of the Xbox button on your controller will bring up a menu that allows you to open a new app in snap mode, close the current snapped app, or switch focus between your game and your running snapped app.”

If you are an Xbox One owner in France, UK, Italy or Germany then you will be able to pick the new Xbox One TV Tuner starting October 21. Tv Tuner will add a bunch of new features to smartglass as well as owners of the console can now stream tv to their smartphones and tablets.

Last but not the least, items such as games and apps can now be hidden in the Ready to Install list under my Games and Apps.
