Pre-Order Mortal Kombat X to Play as Goro
Pre-ordering Mortal Kombat X will unlock the four-armed Shokan Warrior Goro as a playable character in the game from day one, NetherRealm Studios has announced.
That’s some incentive for racking up pre-orders. Goro is one of the original characters in the franchise who made his debut in the very first Mortal Kombat title. He was also featured in the last Mortal Kombat 9 installment but despite there being pleas and requests from the community, developer NetherRealm never unlocked him as a playable character. Now that I recall, there were reports of people hacking their Xbox 360 version to make all the bosses playable but officially it was never made possible.
Pre-order bonus content usually finds its way down the line as a paid DLC pack. While the word “exclusive” is being tossed around, it’s highly likely that we’ll be seeing Goro offered as a paid DLC character in the game’s post-release.
That said, there’s nothing like playing as one of the most powerful characters in the game and mashing your opponents into the ground.
Publisher Warner Bros. Interactive also announced today that Mortal Kombat X will release on April 14, 2015 for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
That gives you plenty of time to get ready. If you’re into using an arcade stick, I reckon the more popular peripheral manufactures will be announcing a MKX version early next year.
