Microsoft Finds a Creative Way to Advertise Destiny
Earlier today, Xbox UK introduced a new Destiny Fragrance based website, which shows a new perfume that is based on the upcoming shooter from Bungie. However, if you proceed down on the website, you will discover a statement that reads:
Okay, so here’s the lowdown. Destiny is actually an epic new first-person shooter, available on Xbox, the site’s text reads. Thing is, we didn’t have permission to run adverts for the game.
So we didn’t. Thanks for smelling that something was up. Now get the game and become a legend.
If you click on to that page, then it will take you to another page which showcases multiple Xbox One and Destiny bundles that are available to purchase at different retailers including Tesco, Amazon and GAME.
Microsoft does not have permission to advertise the game because Sony has signed an exclusive deal with the developers for Desitny.
That’s not it though as Sony has also acquired the rights to some of the content of the game that will be timed exclusive on Sony’s PS4 and PS3.
Previously, this new website was considered as a fake but Xbox UK confirmed it to be real:
