Wasteland 2: New Trailer Shows Character Customization and Combat Mechanics
A new trailer released today for Wasteland 2 provides us a glimpse into the game’s combat mechanics and character customization panels.
The video runs for around seven minutes and starts by creating a new character that specializes in using heavy weapons. On the screen you can catch some of the types of skills that will be available for you to equip your characters with. There is a wide variety of choice when it comes to customization in this title and you can even choose something as minor as what your character likes to smoke.
The video then dwells in weapon modding, which was perhaps given a bit less screen time. Once your character is finalized, it’s time to venture into the world of Wasteland 2 and take on a few bad guys. A few different fights showcase the game’s combat mechanics, where you can also see the cover system in work.
The first Wasteland was released back in 1988 and the second installment has only been made possible through a successful Kickstarter campaign which took place in 2012. The campaign managed to raise nearly $3 million and is currently in Steam Early Access.
According to developer InXile Entertainment, Wasteland 2 will be fully released on September 19. Until now the backers and other beta participants have only seen a small part of the game. They’ll be glad to know that very soon they’ll be able to wrap their arms around the final product.
