Runers Roguelike Out On Steam With Tons Of Content
Publisher Mastertronic has released Runers on Steam. It’s available for a short period at a 25% discount, costing €5.99 until September 9, when it will revert to €7.99.
Runers is a top-down roleplaying game (RPG) with roguelike qualities. That means that each time you play it, the game will be different and once you die, you have to do the whole thing again.
Still, the title does come with a save function between its floors that it uses for added dungeon crawling elements. It’s not foolproof, but at least there’s some breathing room in there.
Runers is all about a massive amount of random content. Each dungeon will have procedurally generated content, which stretches from its layout to its many monsters and so on.
In total, the full release has over 100 different enemies to destroy, each with their own approach. Some will require the game’s quick controls to circumvent, while others are more of a nuisance with ranged attacks.
Additionally, Runers has over 15 random bosses that are located in the 10 tiers you’ll need to descend into.
As far as characters go, Runers shoves in 20 races and 20 classes, each with individual traits of their own. Starting a playthrough is possible in 5 difficulty settings.
As a kicker, Runers throws in a ton of spells, hundreds of them, which can be combined from different runes and upgraded as you go along as well. With just four slots at your disposal, you’ll need to craft the combination that works best for you with the elements you’re given.
