Minecraft 1.8 Update has Been Released For PC, And It’s Huge

The long awaited Minecraft 1.8 update is out now and is named “The Bountiful Update” by the developers and it is indeed bountiful as it brings a lot of new stuff to the game.

This update took almost 10 months to develop and one of the biggest changes that have made its way to the game is the inclusion of underwater ocean monuments dungeon types alongside new enemies and blocks. In addition to that, new stone and dirt types have also made their way into the game to give you even more options.

  • Added Granite, Andesite, and Diorite stone blocks, with smooth versions
  • Added Slime Block
  • Added Iron Trapdoor
  • Added Prismarine and Sea Lantern blocks
  • Added the Ocean Monument
  • Added Red Sandstone
  • Added Banners
  • Added Armor Stands
  • Added Coarse Dirt (dirt where grass won’t grow)
  • Added Guardian mobs, with item drops
  • Added Endermite mob
  • Added Rabbits, with item drops
