Senran Kagura: Estival Versus Announced For PS4 And Vita In Japan
Publisher Marvelous had an announcement to make during Sony’s press conference prior to Tokyo Game Show 2014. It will bring Senran Kagura: Estival Versus to Playstation 4 and PS Vita.
This is the latest in the Senran Kagura series growing in popularity in recent years. Its stories involve classes of young girls who are training to become master ninjas.
This franchise is in fact so popular now that this news coincides with an announcement of a new Dead or Alive game. Content from the Senran Kagura series will be making its way to Dead or Alive 5: Final Round, likely through downloadable content (DLC) in the form of costumes.
Senran Kagura: Estival Versus will be presented in 3D with its usual cel-shaded visuals and swarms of enemies to take down with hack and slash tactics. There will be special attacks with their own captured moments.
As ever, you can expect a series of revealing costumes and separate physics for certain body parts of the female cast. This is what’s called fan service.
This model isn’t that much different from the recent “mousou” brawler uprising from Dynasty Warriors and its mash-ups that are popping up. You’ll just have to be cool with some pinpointed imagery going into this one.
So far, Senran Kagura: Estival Versus is only announced for Japan as a full release that costs about 8,000 yen. A limited edition will be available as well for 13,800 yen.
Recently, publisher Marvelous has heard community pleas to bring the series over to Western regions. So, it’s likely that we could be seeing a localized version of Senran Kagura: Estival Versus at some point.
