Resident Evil Revelations 2 Confirmed by Capcom for 2015
When a couple of screenshots and details were leaked for Resident Evil Revelations 2 some time back, I was sure that the official word on the game’s existence was near; and Capcom didn’t let me down! At a press conference by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia, the developer has finally unveiled the next installment in the series.
The game is officially called Biohazard Revelations 2, just like its predecessor and has currently been announced for a PlayStation 4 release – other versions might be announced later.
According to Capcom producer Masachika Kawata, the game is already in development in the good hands of the core staff members who were involved with the preceding title. The game is going to feature a different setting and a different time period from Revelations though.
More importantly, the protagonists of the upcoming title are not going to be Chris and Valentine Redfield.
While all this is pretty cool, we have not been provided with a lot of details. However, for those of you who would want a roundup on what has led to Resident Evil Revelations 2, I shall share what we know about Resident Evil revelations itself.
The previous game, also known as Biohazard Revelations was released to Nintendo 3DS in early 2012 and to PC, PS3, Wii U and Xbox 360 in mid-2013. The game was set in between Resident Evil 4 and 5 while bringing us back to the early days of the series in terms of survival horror gameplay.
Although the announcement didn’t bring any footage, there was a teaser which you can see if you can sit through the whole conference here. Resident Evil Revelations 2 is set for a release in 2015.
