Re-Releases Are Hot! Metro Redux Best Of UK Charts’ 3 Remake Top

By   /   Sep 1, 2014

This week’s UK video game sales top 20 looks like a glitch in the Matrix, as all three of the highest spots are taken up by games you’ve seen and played before. Metro Redux, the enhanced version of both Metro shooters, leads the pack at number one.

Metro Redux released for PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One. This bundle contains Metro 2033, Metro: Last Light and their respective downloadable content (DLC) releases.

Moreover, the new version received a graphical update that has an output of 60 frames per second on all consoles. Aside from the Metro Redux bundle, both shooter iterations are also sold separately on digital platforms.

On the number two position of the sales charts, Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition brings back Blizzard’s classic roleplaying game (RPG) to Xbox One and Playstation 4. It’s pretty much what the game should’ve been the first time around, but at least we’re finally comfortable with it now.

Finally, The Last of Us: Remastered comes in at three, still going strong from its impressive re-release. It managed to become one of the most powerful sellers of 2014 and it accompanies several other PS4 titles that did the same.

Newcomer Madden NFL 15 will have to do with a number 6 spot. It still lets Call of Duty: Ghosts and even Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare precede it.

The Minecraft console editions, both for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, also lose some of their grip. They slumped to spots 8 and 11 respectively.

Again, top 20 spots for Nintendo are hard to come by. Only Tomodachi Life on 3DS seems to cling onto a spot at number 15.
