Dragon Quest Heroes Is The Next Dynasty Warriors Mash-up, For PS3 And PS4
There were many interesting new game announcements at this year’s Sony conference taking place prior to Tokyo Game Show 2014. One of those is none other than a new Dragon Quest game on Playstation.
Dragon Quest Heroes, as the title is called, is being brought to both Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 by publisher Koei Tecmo’s subsidiary, Omega Force, the makers of Dynasty Warriors. Wait, didn’t they do this one already?
Yes, just like Hyrule Warriors, Dragon Quest Heroes is a “mousou” brawler title that has the Square Enix roleplaying game (RPG) series wrapped around it. You’ll knock leagues of enemies out of the park, but this time as a band of anime characters.
Dragon Quest Heroes will likely feature characters from multiple iterations in the game as well, each with their own skills and play styles. For instance, the reveal shows characters that are more proficient with sword and shield, while others rely more on their magic spells.
Once more, you’ll be able to make use of some special attacks that cause huge areas of damage. Also, monsters of varying sizes will swarm the playing field, including all the known enemies from the franchise.
Dragon Quest Heroes is coming to Japan in spring of 2015. No localized versions have been announced yet.
Interestingly enough, Japan will also receive a special Playstation 4 console with a metal slime melting on top of it, a bit like that special edition Pikachu Nintendo 64 back in the day. It’s additionally marked with a slime on the top cover and the USB port.
Speculations on characters that will appear in Dragon Quest Heroes can start now.
