Salt And Sanctuary Announced for PS4 and PS Vita
Announced via PlayStation Blog by developers James and Michele Silva from the Seattle based Ska Studios, Salt And Sanctuary is going to be a PS4 and PS Vita title.
The Devs took to the blog and described the game as a “stylistic, brutal action RPG platformer that’s teeming with visceral, satisfying combat, deep, diverse character builds and some of the most incredible bosses we’ve ever made.”
The Salt and Sanctuary will put players is shoes of a sailor who is shipwrecked on a strange, purgatorial island.
The game features amazing hand-drawn and animated 2D art, an in-house soundtrack, and a large roster of, dynamic and unique bosses. According to the devs, Salt is somewhat inspired by old classics like Castlevania DS, and new classics like the Souls series.
The post on the Playstation Blog by Ska Studios further states that the new game emphasizes on side-scrolling combat with weapons that have movesets, air attacks with hang time and loadouts that are going to affect your speed and stamina.
“stylistic side scrolling combat: weapons have movesets, air attacks have hang time, and rolling is king. There’s a huge amount of depth to the combat in Salt, however. Weapons can be one-handed and paired with shields or offhand crossbows for versatility, or wielded two-handed for added power — and every configuration has its own unique moveset. “
