Master Chief’s Cracked Helmet in Halo 5 Guardians Explained

By   /   Aug 30, 2014

Did you notice that Master Chief is wearing a cracked helmet? If you did, you must be wondering why that is so. The new Halo comic is here for the rescue! The latest issue of the comic has been released in full and goes on to reveal that it has something to do with Didact.

According to the comic, when Master Chief discovers the composer devices along with the Blue Team, they are faced with a horde of Prometheans.

Making their way to Installation 03 (Monitor right behind them), they are attacked by Didact who is stabbed in the eye by Master Chief. He is, in turn, grabbed by Didact who breaks his helmet.

As expected, the new Halo comic is building up the bridges between Halo 4 and Halo 5 Guardians very well. There were things that we wouldn’t have understood had it not been for the comic or the Halo Nightfall webseries.

Previously, the comic has revealed that Didact is indeed alive and is actually going to return to the game. In fact, this time he is going to come back harder – the comic revealed that Didact now has six composers (a composer is a Forerunner technology that could destroy humankind).

From the looks of it, I don’t think we have had it all from the comic; I expect some more information about the upcoming Halo title before we really delve into the game next year.

While that is all we have so far regarding the game, I am sure you would now feel content that you finally know what went down with Master Chief that resulted in that crack in his helmet.

I bet you can’t wait to get in there and deal with Didact right away, but sadly that is not going to happen until Halo 5 Guardians releases close to the end of 2015.
