Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell Announced by Volition
Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell is the next installment in the franchise, developer Volition announced today at PAX Prime.
The Volition panel consisted of developers Steve Jaros, Jim Boone and Mike Watson, Brand Developer at Deep Silver Aubrey Norris, and Natalie Lander, the voice of Kinzie in the Saints Row series.
The panel explained that after spelling out ‘Jezebel’ using an Ouija board on Kinzie’s birthday, a portal rips open which pulls the president into hell itself. Players take control of Johnny Gat and Kinzie, both of which are available for cooperative gameplay for the entire play-through.
Steelport is going to be filled with demons and other nightmarish creatures that I’m assuming to have walked through the open portal. The game will feature new innovative weapons, including a weapons series called the seven deadly sins. Each weapon is based on each of the sins, such as Sloth and Gluttony.
Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell is going to be a standalone expansion to the series and is scheduled for release on January 27, 2015 for all major platforms. A brief gameplay trailer released during the panel can be checked out above.
In addition to the announcement of the new title, Volition also announced that Saints Row 4: Re-Election Edition would be coming to the Xbox One and PS4 on the same January 27, 2015, date. The edition will include all of the game’s DLC and be priced at $29.99. The bundle will be available for $49.99 if you choose to get Gat Out of Hell as well.
