Nintendo Announces the Price of Amiibo Figures, Up for Pre-Orders

By   /   Aug 29, 2014

Remember those Amiibo toys announced during Nintendo’s E3 Digital Presentation?

They seemed pretty cool especially with the support of using the characters inside various Nintendo games like Super Smash Bros. but there is one thing everyone wondered, how much will they cost? Well the veil has been lifted and Nintendo has announced the price tag.

The Amiibo range of toys for Wii U will cost 13$ each according to Nintendo. The first set of 12 interactive figures, including Samus, Mario, Yoshi, Kirby and Pikachu are available to pre-order now at select retailers.

While the figures will be usable in many Wii U titles which include Mario Kart 8 and Yoshi’s Woolly World, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U will be the first title with complete integration of Amiibo functionality.

The smart nature of the figures allows players to touch them to the Wii U console and import or export character data to the Super Smash Bros. Wii U game including various stats, upgrades and fighting moves.

Functionality and details about the support for other games will be revealed pretty soon. The release date for the Amiibo figures is still unknown but it will most probably be around Christmas or the release of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.
