If the excitement for the upcoming The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt wasn’t enough, fans will be pleased to know that their favorite RPG series might appear in the form of a movie as well.

According to a report by thenews.pl, a movie based on the Andrzej Sapkowski’s Witcher fantasy novels is in the works. The news was confirmed by Platige Image’s Baginski who is a creative director at the Studio and is the one who worked on the intros for The Witcher 1 and Witcher 2.

They also stated that apart from digital and animated effects, the project will involve actors but to what extent the project will be animated is not specified.

The Witcher was a series of short fantasy stories but later got adapted into a TV series, Video Games and a graphic Novel series. Though this is not the first time Withcer is being turned into a movie, back in 2001 a movie by the name of “The Hexer” (or The Witcher in English) was released in Poland.

Platige Image has worked on the special effects for major Polish productions such as Lars von Trier’s Antichrist (2009), Jerzy Skolimowski’s Essential Killing (2010) and Andrzej Wajda’s Katyn (2007).

What are your expectations from the movie? Do you think Platige will be able to deliver a decent movie to the fans? Share your your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below!
