Disney Infinity Wii U Version is Free to Upgrade from Wii

By   /   Aug 23, 2014

Have you played Disney Infinity on the Wii U? If not, here’s your chance to try out the game before you spend some dimes on the next installment in the series, i.e. Disney Infinity 2.0 Edition. Electronic Arts is offering you the game for free on Wii U if you have owned the Wii version before.

John Blackburn the Vice President and General Manager of Avalanche Software shed light on the game’s commitment with the community and offer that is being made in light of the looming release of Disney Infinity 2.0 Edition:

Disney Infinity launched one year ago, and in that time the number of Wii U players has significantly expanded. Given our commitment to compatibility for our players, we wanted existing Wii owners to be able to experience the Wii U version of the first game for free.

With the upcoming launch of the 2.0 Edition of Disney Infinity we want all Nintendo players to experience the game’s Wii U functionality.

If you own the Disney Infinity Starter Pack, all you need to do now is go to the Nintendo eShop and download the Wii U version of the game to your console. You will, of course, need the Disney Infinity base as well as at least one figure in order to play the game.

So are you ready to plunge into the worlds of Monster University, The Incredibles, or Pirates of the Caribbean? Syndrome, Captain Jack Sparrow and Sulley are all waiting for you at the other end of the Wii U GamePad!

Let us know if you are going to get the Disney Infinity Wii U version or not.
