The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter Gets a Gameplay Demo With Release Date

By   /   Aug 22, 2014

The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter has been given a September 13 release date along with a 13 minutes demo.

The PS4 version of the game was revealed at Gamescom and the title was announced previously only for Microsoft Windows.

“The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is a story-driven mystery game that focuses entirely on exploration and discovery, featuring no combat or explosions of any kind,” details The Astronauts founder Adrian Chmielarz in today’s announcement.

The demo introduces the lead character Paul Prospero as an “occult-minded detective” who receives a disturbing letter from a boy named Ethan Carter and realizing that the boy is in danger our protagonist decides to go look for him and help him.

The demo also showcased the weird and spooky atmosphere of the game which complements the concept of the story really well.

“While it features a private detective and quite a few mental challenges, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is not a puzzle-ridden game. Our focus is on atmosphere, mood, and the essential humanity of our characters.”

Paul Prospero is no ordinary detective as he has special abilities to visualize the happenings at a crime scene and gather clues which will help him solve the puzzles in the game.

The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter is set to release this year. Will you be picking up a copy of the game? Share your thoughts and opinions about the game with us in the comments section below!
