EA Sports Season Ticket is Getting Terminated by March 2016

EA Sports has announced that it plans to do away with selling access to EA Sports Season Ticket from March 2015 with the service completely ending by March 2016. In addition to this, the company has also lowered the cost for new subscribers from $24.99 to $19.99.

Those of you who don’t know, EA Sports Season Ticket enables Xbox 360 and PS3 players to get three days early access to their favourite games, 24 weeks of Ultimate Team packs, and a 20 per cent discount on all DLC packs. Since the service is terminating, the last few games available to the players will be FIFA 15, NHL 15, and Madden NFL 15.

Speaking of its decision of terminating the services, EA Sports representative stated:

We’re constantly looking at the benefits we provide to our players and ensuring that they are valuable and beneficial to as many players as possible.

As more and more of our fans move to the new generation of consoles, we felt the time was right to start the process of concluding Season Ticket for the Xbox 360 and PS3. The Season Ticket benefits are still available for FIFA 15, NHL 15 and Madden NFL 15, at a new lower price of $19.99.

It is pretty evident that the decision has something to do with recently announced EA Access which duplicates most of the features of Season Ticket, but is exclusively available for Xbox One. As for the PS3/PS4 owners, EA Sports has yet to announce its plans for them.
