New Pokemon Project To Be Announced On August 26

The Pokemon Company made a surprising announcement today on their official website. It seems that a new Pokemon Project is in the works and will be announced in coordination with Famitsu, a famous Japanese video game magazine.

The project will be announced on August 26th via live stream from Niconico.

President and CEO of The Pokemon Company, Tsunekazu Ishihara will be present during the stream event along with special guests Nobuhiko Okamoto, Aoi Yuuki and two others who are yet unannounced.

Given that Okamoto and Yuuki are both voice actors (Yuuki has also provided voice talent for previous Pokemon projects) it’s possible that the other two will also be from the same line of work.

The stream will be hosted by Ayana Tsubaki and Bunbun-maru.

It is still unclear whether it is a game or some new anime series but given Famitsu’s involvement, a video game is more likely.

Perhaps it’s the rumored Pokemon Delta Emerald, a remake of the GBA classic Pokemon Emerald.

The other two counterparts of Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire are being remade for Nintendo’s 3DS in the form of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire so it’s highly possible that the third title of the series would also be remade.

Fingers crossed for Delta Emerald while we wait for the live stream.
