How Different The Witcher 3 PC Will be from PS4 and Xbox One?
CD Projekt’s Open World Action RPG The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is among one of the most highly anticipated titles of 2015. If you are wondering how will the console version be as compared to PC, than Visual Effects Artist Jose Teixeira has some answers for you
During a chat with Dualshockers, he explained that the optimization for the console versions is going “Better than expected” from the start of the game’s development.
He said that the SSAO or screen space ambient occlusion will be different and the water in the ocean won’t have the same level of advanced tessellation so there are some alterations to be made and sacrifices as well.
“Hopefully won’t make a huge visual impact” but will improve the stability and performance of the overall experience.
Furthermore, Teixeira added that The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is running surprisingly well on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as compared to The Witcher 2 on the last gen consoles.
When for the first time the developers tried to run The Witcher 2 on Xbox 360 it crashed and “wouldn’t run at all”. CD Projekt Red said it is not possible to run The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and the game can never be developed for these consoles.
While the team over at CD Projekt don’t know if the final frame rate will be dynamic or locked, it will be at least 30 frames per second and players can expect impressive visuals.
Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set for a release on February 24, 2015 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
