Dead Island 2 Gameplay Footage Shows Weapon Modifications And A Beautiful Looking World
Dead Island 2 was present at Gamescom 2014 in the form of a pre-alpha playable demo and some new gameplay details have emerged from it, especially regarding the locations in the game and the multiplayer.
While the demo only allowed a maximum of four players together, the game will eventually support up to eight players in the zombie slaughterfest by Deep Silver and Yager.
The demo, set in Los Angeles showed the highly open world nature of the game as well as freedom to choose and modify weapons to the player’s own likings.
A lot of houses and shops are open for access, and players can scavenge to find various items to modify their weapons.
Among the modifications available to players is the fire mod for the sledgehammer which sets zombies on fire when players use a heavy attack. Batteries can be added to weapons to turn them into shock weapons for increased damage.
Highlighting the destruction in the game, players can easily notice doors, and various objects can be broken down. The environment can be used for an even greater advantage (set fire to grassy areas and all zombies standing in it will be damaged).
In terms of visuals, the game looks very different from any other zombie game out there.
The visuals are truly amazing and detailed. Those who love blood and gore are sure in for a treat, while the blood splatters look cool in the start, from a distance they seem more like paint. It could be because of a very early build though.
Dead Island 2 is set to be released in Spring 2015 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
