Assassin’s Creed: Rogue For New Gen is Too Early to Discuss, Says Ubisoft

Ubisoft is going to release two new Assassin’s Creed games this year, with one going on current-gen console while the other for the last-gen consoles.

However, there were some people who were expecting Assassin’s Creed: Rogue to make it to the Xbox One and PS4 alongside Unity, but it looks like it will not be the case anytime soon.

Speaking to OXM, producer Ivan Balabanov stated that right now, Ubisoft is looking to start the next-gen only journey with Assassin’s Creed: Unity and the possibility of the Xbox One and PS4 port of Assassin’s Creed: Rogue is too early to discuss.

The [Unity] technology’s built from the ground up with a lot of reinventions of the systems behind it – essentially it’s a game that takes full advantage of the hardware, and what we wanted to do in our case is make a game for players who still haven’t made the transition.

When asked specifically about the next-gen port of Assassin’s Creed: Rogue, Balabanov said:

It’s too early to discuss this subject. Right now Unity is our game for new generation consoles.

The possibility is still there, but there is just no way that Ubisoft will release both the Assassin’s Creed: Unity and Assassin’s Creed: Rogue at the same time on the consoles as it will hurt the market for both.

However, in the future, you may expect to see Rogue making an appearance on both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
