The Dark Below is the first expansion pack to Destiny and is scheduled for release this December on all platforms, developer Bungie announced today during Sony’s Gamescom 2014 press conference.

The developer also revealed that there’s another expansion pack in development, which will release after The Dark Below and within the first year of Destiny’s release. Bungie however, did not reveal any information on what we can expect from the second DLC pack.

Destiny will feature some new timed exclusive deals for PlayStation owners. Jonty Barnes, Director of Production at Bungie, announced that The Dark Below would release first on the PS3 and PS4. Additionally, players will also get early access to a Strike mission, Dust Palace, and the competitive multiplayer map Exodus Blue.

A new released trailer features the competitive mode Crucible that pits two teams of six against each other. It also showcases other modes like Rumble, Crash, and Salvage.

Destiny is scheduled for release on September 9 for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. It’s worth knowing that Sony is going to be releasing a special PS4 Destiny bundle on the same day which will feature a white-colored PS4 console.
