ESRB has rated the upcoming survival horror title The Evil Within and according to them, the game will feature Blood and Gore, Intense Violence and Strong Language which is why it is only suitable for mature audience (17+).

In addition to sharing the rating of the game, ESRB has also provided an in depth introduction to the game, which tells us that the game’s protagonist Detective Sebastian Castellanos will roam around an insane asylum looking for an escape and will utilize knives, pistols, shotguns, and explosives to take out the enemies.

Furthermore, your attacks on enemies will not always be lethal which means that if you shoot at an arm of an opponent, then you will only dismember it, but it will not cause death.

Cutscenes of The Evil Within will also be incredibly gory as they will include acts of intense violence, children being buried alive, decapitation and other gory stuff like that.

This upcoming horror title is being directed by Shinji Mikami, who has made quite a name for himself through Resident Evil series but we will see if he manages to keep his reputation with this new title.

The Evil Within is set to launch on 14th of October for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
