Mario Kart 8 players will be getting free Mercedes GLA DLC adding three new cars into the line-up on August 27. Yes, there will be three of them instead of one.

The DLC features the 1957 300 SL Roadster sports car, the 1924 W 25 Silver Arrow Formula racing car and Mercedes-Benz’ the new compact SUV, the GLA.

Nintendo’s Official Twitter account confirmed in June that the DLC will hit the European and North American market sometime this summer. The Mercedes-benz DLC was already confirmed for Japan, with a release date set for August 27.

Furthermore, the DLC will come alongside a major update for Mario Kart 8, which was also confirmed via Twitter.

The update will add map display on TV screen and a record screen with a total number of coins and an online win/loss record. It will also introduce the ability to save previously used Kart customization, edit other players highlights and also improves upon the stability of communication during online play.

In addition, the default menu choice following GP race, is now changed to next race instead of view highlights. so now finally we can stop selecting view highlights by mistake.

The 8th installment of the Mario Kart franchise was released on May, 8 2014 worldwide for Wii U and since then has been a big success for the company.
