The Expendabros Kicks Butt On Steam Free Right Now

It’s hard to contain our emotions on this, but the latest move by publisher Devolver Digital is once more a sure shot. They’ve just released The Expendabros on Steam, for free.

This crossover features one of their games currently on Early Access, Broforce, with the cast of The Expendables 3 as playable characters. You get to destroy anything unpatriotic with the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone and Terry Crews.

IGN has even put up a trailer for the game with none other than Dolph Lundgren selling the game. It’s not even done in a forced sort of way; it’s glorious.

Expendabros

Essentially, Expendabros plays exactly like Broforce. You man a team of veteran killers who go around thwarting evil in a pixel art side-scrolling shooter. During gameplay sessions, you can rescue other bros, which alternates what character you use.

Each killer comes with their own abilities, which drastically alters the way you play. For instance, Jason Statham throws a bunch of knives, while Dolph Lundgren just has a grenade launcher and what appears to be an explosive dog?

Anyway, the point is that the approaches in gameplay are wildly different and that keeps this carnage fest quite refreshing. You’ll need to keep a steady eye on the destruction, because things frequently blow up and one hit kills you, because heroes shouldn’t get hit.

Since Expendabros is a timed promotion for the movie, it will only be free for a while. It will be available for download until December 31, 2014. Go play it now, bro.
