Assassin’s Creed: Unity’s Latest Trailer Dissected, Hidden Details Revealed

By   /   Aug 1, 2014

The latest Assassin’s Creed: Unity trailer allegedly contains plenty of interesting details that were hidden throughout the video, courtesy of Ubisoft.

These might have gone unnoticed, if not for the efforts of a fan who went through the trailer countless times to point out the hidden bits.

Starting with the scene where Arno jumps in to stop the Jacobins from finishing their execution. The specific scene has a lot of common grounds with the trailer of the first game where Altair jumps in to stop an execution in Jerusalem. The scenes are identical, from the jump on the stage, to the use of the hidden blade. Whether Ubisoft did this on purpose and has something extra stored for us, remains to be seen.

The trailer also features Elise in the beginning, which might indicate that the Templars and Assassins could be coming together for a unanimous cause. The game’s called Unity after all.

Elise isn’t the only character that sparks our curiosity. The trailer also features an unknown man with a green hat multiple times. Is he simply a mistake on Ubisoft’s part or does he hold a greater role in the game’s campaign?

Finally there’s Arno’s pocketwatch, which has the initials A and E embossed at the bottom. It could refer to Arno and Elise, but that sounds just too tacky. The watch also clicks twice in one spot for no reason. According to Creative Director Alex Amancio, the watch is significant, so it clicking twice has some important significance which we’ve yet to come across.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity is set for release on October 28 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
