Halo 5: Guardians Setting Apparently Disclosed, Didact Not Dead
Halo Escalation comics issue number 8 was released by Dark Horse Studios recently, and with the release of the comic came more information about what exactly is going on in the universe and apparent setting of Halo 5: Guardians.
The story takes off from Master Chief’s arrival at Requirm where he defeats Didact, loses Cortana and then goes back to UNSC to report on the matter.
He tells them that Didact has survived (actually he says that his death isn’t confirmed) and then the havoc raised by the crash of Infinty is blamed upon rebels of Covenant.
A new matter is taken up; Composer, a technology developed by the Forerunners to control Flood has been destroyed – all this is confirmed by Chief who says that this cannot happen again.
He is told by Lord Hood that one of the science teams and their guards have gone missing after the Spartan security was attacked out of nowhere. It is expected that this was the work of Promethean Knights.
Things heat up and Chief, accompanied by Blue Team, visit Gamma Halo from Halo 4 to find the guards dead. The location of the Composer is figured out and it is sent to Ivanoff Station.
This is where Didact is told that the humans have found the ‘abyss,’ followed by Didact exclaiming that he will ‘look forward to welcoming them to my world.’
Apparently, Blue Team and Chief are about to enter Didact’s world through some kind of a portal which is being rumored as the setting stage of Halo 5: Guardians.
Halo 5: Guardians is expected to be released in the second half of 2015 as an Xbox One title.
