Grinding Gear Games has announced that its free-to-play online RPG, Path of Exile is getting a new expansion by the end next month.

Dubbed as Path of Exile: Forsaken Masters, the latest expansion is scheduled to roll out on Aug. 20, 2014. And no, you will not be spending a dime to get your hands on the new content as it will be available for absolutely free! However, players will be able to make in-game purchases using micro-transactions.

The expansion will feature seven eponymic masters who will train players in a wide array of skills. Each of these masters will have distinctive styles and players will have to adapt to these styles in order to complete their respective missions which will have further variations.

Other notable features of Path of Exile: Forsaken Masters include new items, mods, new support, skill gems, upgraded crafting benches, new skills, and the ability to personalize towns. In addition to all these features, the expansion will also introduce new Challenge Leagues and new Rampage Challenge League. As of now, we are short on details regarding these, but rest assured that more information will become available by Aug. 8, 2014.
