Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition Confirms Cross-Platform Support
Blizzard has confirmed that Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition will allow players to transfer their save files from the previous-gen consoles to the current ones.
The availability of cross-platform support is great news for players because they won’t have to start anew when the game gets launched next month. Those who already have invested tons of gameplay hours in the game while on the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, can now choose to carry all of their progress into the respective newer console.
The developer noted that the saves cannot be transferred between the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One or vice versa. Also in most cases, it’s impossible to transfer the save files from say the PS3 to Xbox One or Xbox 360 to PS4.
To initiate a transfer, players simply have to authenticate and link their PSN ID or Gamertags to Battle.net. After that the game’s own in-game menus will guide you through the process.
Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition will launch on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on August 19. The game will feature new achievements and trophies, on top of the existing ones. Additionally the PS4 version will contain some extra items like Last of Us Nephalem Rift and Shadow of Colossus Transmog items.
Earlier this month, Blizzard stated that there’s a chance the Xbox One version will be scaled up from 900p to something better by the time of the release. Whether they will achieve this remains to be seen.
