Diablo 3 Patch 2.1.0 Weapon Buffs and Greater Rifts Changes Detailed

Blizzard is currently testing the Diablo 3 Patch 2.1.0 on the Public Test Realm (PTR).

Although only a few people can get their hands on the updated version of the game there, the general public is soon going to get their hands on the update. This calls for some information about the expected changes so that you know what to expect.

The developers have shared more details about the upcoming update on more than one place. For starters, the weapons being buffed now include two handed weapons ranging from level 1 to 70 as well.

Grimiku, the community manager for the game took to the official forums and also announced that the amount of damage being increased has been improved further from 23-26% to 26-30% and he added:

We’re planning on expanding the level range for the retroactive damage buff to 2-handed weapons, so that it will include item levels 10-70 in patch 2.1. One of the benefits of this change is that it should help lower level Crusaders feel like Heavenly Strength is still a good choice. The percent of increased damage will still be based on the weapon speed, and not based on item level. So, lower level items will receive the same base percent damage increase as their higher level counterparts.

On a separate post on the battle.net website, a number of changes to the Greater Rifts were also confirmed.

For instance, Urshi will now ‘spawn at the end of every Greater Rift level’ and the ‘Rift Guardian will spawn at the 15 minute mark regardless of whether your bar has reached full progress.’

There will also be a higher chance of upgrades with each additional tier of Greater Rift.

Diablo 3 Patch 2.1.0 is expected to change quite a lot about the game, what else would you want to see in it?
