Super Smash Bros Gets Paper Mario Stage On 3DS
A new exclusive stage for Super Smash Bros has been revealed. As per usual, game director Masahiro Sakurai made the announcement through Nintendo Miiverse.
This stage will take place in the universe of Paper Mario and will be featured in the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros. It comes with multiple configurations.
According to Sakurai’s post, there are strong winds that could blow away the colorful green level that features a windmill, probably to indicate wind strength. This makes it shift to another plain, where fighting happens on a boat and with a giant Blooper on the side.
This ship is the S.S. Flavion, which dates back to Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, a game that released on Nintendo GameCube in 2004. In the background, there’s a giant setting sun, giving the stage a more saturated look.
Super Smash Bros is really packing on the content lately. With only a few months left to go, the fighter already has quite the roster.
Previous reveals have added new characters like Robin and Lucina from Fire Emblem, Pac-Man and Palutena from Kid Icarus. Stages will include games like Pikmin, Punch-Out and The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks.
Japan will get Super Smash Bros on 3DS in September, while the rest of the world has to wait a month, until October. There is no set date for the Nintendo Wii U version of the brawler, but it’s expected to land during the holiday season.
