Guardians of the Galaxy Come To Minecraft On Xbox
Unsurprisingly, Minecraft will be adding downloadable content (DLC) for Guardians of the Galaxy, the latest Marvel hype blockbuster du jour. DLC will come in the usual skin packs that transform characters in the comic book figures.
Skins include all the big names from the movie, such as Star Lord, Gamora, Drax, Groot, and Rocket Racoon. We would love to know how you feel about this DLC, as we think most of the skins are damn ugly.
Rocket Raccoon looks ridiculous being the same size as everyone else and apparently several decades older. Really the only one that’s well done is Thanos, luckily.
Minecraft’s Guardians of the Galaxy DLC will only come to the Microsoft versions of the game. Developer 4J Studios will make the skins available for Xbox 360, but also the upcoming Xbox One iteration of the popular sandbox.
More than likely, the pack will cost somewhere around $2.99, as that has been the norm for other cosmetic packages. Previous Marvel-related skin-packs have also been exclusive to Xbox consoles.
Sony has their own line of special Minecraft content for the Playstation 3 version. Earlier in March, PS3 owners received DLC for Uncharted and Killzone.
Guardians of the Galaxy is directed by James Gunn. That name has previously worked on games as well, as Gunn was the writer for the 2012 release, Lollipop Chainsaw.
James Gunn also has prior work with superheroes. In 2010, the director was responsible for Super, a dark, twisted version of real-life vigilantes, starring Ellen Page and Rainn Wilson from The Office.
