Wargaming Launches WG Stream Twitch Integration

Online game producer Wargaming is facilitating game streams with the recent addition of WG Stream to its titles. This mod tool allows its users to broadcast to popular channel Twitch from directly within their game.

WG Stream is made available for both World of Tanks and World of Warplanes. It already managed to increase the numbers for their free-to-play games that are played by millions across the world.

Since its inception, broadcasts for both titles have doubled on Twitch. Viewership has also increased by 18%, so the exposure is being noticed, at least in part.

Unlike a lot of regular Twitch integrations that are lacking in usability, WG Stream offers its users a little more elbow room. Aside from just broadcasting, it’s possible to modify settings, so that you can optimize the quality best suited for your connection.

It’s also possible to browse Twitch servers prior to going live, to choose the one with the best latency at the time. Hotkeys are also present to help control streams.

Given WG Stream is a mod to enhance its titles, Wargaming is using the publicity to drive interested modders to its Developer Partner Program. It yields statistics and data on the free-to-play games for anyone willing to make additional content for them.

With more streaming options, the already easily accessible games have a good chance to grow even larger. Moreover, Wargaming runs its own eSports leagues, which is a particularly popular topic on Twitch, so WG Stream is bound to help in that area as well.
