Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Release Pushed To Before The Weekend
Good news for those who have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, because publisher Warner Bros has announced that the game is coming early. Now, you’ll be able to get stuck in this open world adventure on October 3, 2014.
That’s not that much earlier, mind you, as the previous release date was put on October 7. Still, that means the game will now come out before the weekend, so you have time to binge on it on launch day. That’s a clever move.
In Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, you’re given free reign over the vast environment of the Lord of the Rings. Players personify Talion, a Ranger who has come back from the dead, after Sauron’s Black Captains brutally murdered them all at the Black Gate.
This resurrection has a price, as Talion is engulfed by the Spirit of Vengeance. Still, that comes with a lot of advantages as well.
For instance, the Ranger can move through the Wraith world, which teleports characters instantly towards new heights. More cunning still, enemies can be mind-controlled to do your bidding, which branches off with every enemy that minion controls.
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor has an intricate Nemesis system that catalogs each enemy and their relationship towards others, as well as their memory of the player. This creates unique instances of reactions that should be different with each playhrough.
Developer Monolith, who is in charge of this title, is mostly known for their work on the F.E.A.R. shooter series. They have been introduced to Lord of the Rings before, however, with arena game Guardian of Middle-earth.
Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor will release for PC, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
