Finally, The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky PC Date

By   /   Jul 24, 2014

After a long wait, The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky finally has a release date for its PC port. This classic roleplaying game (RPG) will come to Steam and GOG on July 29, 2014 for $19.99.

For its PC version The Legend of Heroes will add HD resolutions that make the shadows and older 3D models look a little nicer. Moreover, there will be voice-overs in combat, a difficulty level and a New Game+ option in this version.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky was originally released in regions outside of Japan in 2011. It has since become a PSP classic.

Since Trails in the Sky is only the first chapter in the game, however, its launch on the tail-end of the PSP’s lifespan made it difficult to attract a new audience with subsequent episodes.

Fans can finally breathe easy with the PC date, as it was previously stated it would come early in 2014. Additionally, the second chapter of the game would land in the middle of the year, but you’ll likely be waiting a bit longer, if this is the schedule that’s being handled.

In The Legend of Heroes, the story takes up a sizable role. It follows Estelle and Joshua, two mercenaries that perform various tasks for towns, while they’re also involved in a comical coming of age story.

One of the ways this RPG is refreshing is that it spices up the normal turn-based party mechanism with an initiative bar that can act as a slot reel. Special places in the bar indicate a way to significantly enhance attacks, making it possible to shoot for those spots to thwart enemies.

Each attack comes with its own duration, shifting the positions in the turn bar. Another way to break the mold altogether is with the use of powerful S-craft moves that can be used at any time.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC, which stands for Second Chapter, will also launch on PC, in addition to a PSP release.
