Guardians of the Galaxy Heading to Disney Infinity 2.0
The five members of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy are headed to Disney Infinity 2.0 this fall.
Executive Producer John Vignocchi announced during a recent event in San Francisco that the Guardians of the Galaxy is the latest addition to Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Superheroes and will be featured as a standalone play set. The set is being developed by Studio Gobo, who worked on the Pirates of the Caribbean playset.
Each of the five characters will have their own set of special moves. Peter Quill (Star-Lord) gives players access to melee abilities, a special super jump ability and dual-wield pistols. Gamora is said to play similarly to The Avenger’s Black Widow with a bag of skills that allow players to move quickly from foe to foe. Gamora’s super move is a powerful slice that can tear through enemies on the battlefield. Drax is “a very brutal, inside and up close melee combat fighter” who is equipped with two daggers. Groot is a humanoid tree who can extend his limbs to attack and Rocket Raccoon has a mean pistol firing ability.
Players will be able to customize their Toy Boxes with Guardians of the Galaxy-themed armor, items and more.
Vignocchi also hinted that more characters could be announced at San Diego Comic-Con, which takes place July 24 – 27.
“That wraps up the first round of the Marvel super heroes that are being integrated into Disney Infinity 2.0, but there are more characters coming inside of Disney Infinity 2.0 from Marvel,” Vignocchi said.
Guardians of the Galaxy is the third play set for the game, the previous being The Avengers and Spider-Man.
