More Trouble at Crytek, Ryse and Crysis 3 Producer Mike Read Quits

By   /   Jul 23, 2014

It looks like that a lot is happening at Crytek Studios and none of it is good. Crytek’s R&D graphics engineer left just a few days ago, studio cancelled Ryse 2 due to financial crisis and now Mike Read, the producer on Ryse: Son of Rome and Crysis 3 has also left the company.

This information came directly from Read’s Linkedin page, where it is mentioned that he has left the job at Crytek as of this month.

Read Joined up with the team two years ago in April 2012 and worked on the games like Crysis 3 and Ryse: Son of Rome.

There is no doubt that visually Crysis 3 and Ryse: Son of Rome surpassed a lot of people’s expectations, but both of these games couldn’t do so well in terms of sales, which could be the reason that Crytek is facing this downfall.

Crytek made its mark on the market when it released the original Crysis for PC, which was not only an incredible looking game but also provided number of options to the players to complete the given task, the way they seem fit.

We would love to see Crytek return to its glory days, but it doesn’t look like it is going to happen any time soon.

What is your take on the problems that are going on at Crytek Studios?
