All aboard the hype train! The developer Dovetail Games has announced that its forthcoming Train Simulator will arrive on platform PC on Sept. 18, 2014.

Train Simulator 2015 will not only feature the most famous pre-existing train models, but will also include Hitachi Rail Europe Ltd.’s 800/801 trains, which will not be available for public transport until 2018.

Speaking of their partnership with Dovetail Games, Chief Operating Officer of Hitachi Rail Europe Andy Darr stated:

We’re delighted to be working with Dovetail Games and excited to see how they have brought the Class 800/801 to life in their software. As leaders in innovation we’re always looking for partners that share our passion for design and technology and we can’t wait to see how Train Simulator 2015 users enjoy the experience of driving our train.

Furthermore, the game will also feature a new academy training area where players will be able to get their hands on all types of train and familiarize themselves with various operational systems.

And lastly, players who are already familiar to the franchise should expect a revamped crafting system which will allow them to create content with relative ease as stated by Dovetail Games’ Producer Adam Lucas:

It is…important to our users to be able to get creative so we’ve made further enhancements to the tool set available to creators to make the job of building great content easier and quicker than ever before.

Available as both physical and digital download from Steam, players who already own the Train Simulator 2014 will receive an automatic upgrade to the core game of Train Simulator 2015.
