In today’s video, we discuss something subjective – are video game remasters good or bad? And...
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Coming on March 17, 2015?
Alright so this is not really a place where I would expect to see a release date leak from; but The Guardian has apparently let slip the exact date on which we are supposed to be able to buy Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
The website wrote an article about the game’s concept, and how Hideo Kojima believes that ‘Metal Gear questions US dominance of the world,’ and a ‘challenge to Hollywood’s depiction of American policies.’ It’s a pretty juicy write up, but the juiciest bit came at the end of the article.
As you can see from the screenshot posted below (courtesy: some vigilant Reddit users), the story ended with a line that says that ‘Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain is due out on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on 17 March, 2015.’
When the media caught up to the story and a lot was said and done about it, the word must have reached Kojima who probably asked the website to remove the date. Now the article has replaced the March date with ‘early 2015.’
There have been fake news regarding the game in the past too, all thanks to the high anticipation levels and lack of information on some matters. For instance recently a synopsis was leaked that was apparently related to the game but Kojima clarified that it was a fake.
Since the developers themselves are claiming that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is going to come out in early 2015, a March release date could actually be a possibility, but we’ll have to wait for Kojima Productions to confirm that before we believe it.
