Blizzard to Improve 2-Handed Weapons in Diablo 3
Blizzard has announced that number of new changes will be made to two handed weapons of Diablo 3, after hearing so many complaints about it.
Two-handed weapons in the game have always lagged behind the one-handed weapons, because players are given an option to dual wield one-handed weapons, which do more damage in lesser time compared to its two-handed counterpart.
However, that is about to change as Blizzard revealed via Battle.net, that 2 handed weapons will be more buffed and will do more damage than the dual wielded weapons.
The DPS of 2-Handed Melee Weapons has been increased by 23-26% across the board. This applies to the following weapon types:
- 2-Handed Maces
- 2-Handed Mighty Weapons
- 2-Handed Axes
- 2-Handed Flails
- 2-Handed Staffs
- 2-Handed Swords
In direct response, Heavenly Strength will now reduce damage done by 20%. With both changes, Crusaders using a 2-Hander should see a very small DPS increase.
- This change is retroactive to existing live items.
- This change only affects level 70 two-handed melee weapons.
- This change affects two-handed melee weapons of all rarities.
Blizzard also mentioned that this is just a first step to improve the weapons in the game, as players can expect more changes to two handed weapons in the future, so that they can be made more viable for all classes.
Diablo 3 is currently available to play on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with Xbox One and PlayStation 4 version set to release next month.
