Areal Gets Prototype Video to Counter Negativity Received by West Games

West Games has released new prototype gameplay footage for its upcoming post-apocalyptic, Areal.

A-minute long video shows a character aimlessly wandering through the wilds, trying to shoot down animals, and coming across a small deposition of what looked like some form of Metamorphite.

However, the developers has confirmed that unveiling any gameplay detail wasn’t their intention as the video was produced in only two weeks, just to show the community that they are working really hard on this ambitious project.

The developer has also asked the community to back the project stating that Kickstarting a project is harder than developing the game, itself.

One of the biggest mistakes that we made was focusing too much on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and not showing footage of Areal itself. This raised a lot of negativity in the community, and many accused us of being a fraud. We just wanted to show people that we were responsible for creating S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

So far, the developer has pledged of $50,000 out of which $37,042 has been attained from 1,021 backers. More details on rewards and backing can be located at the game’s Kickstarter Page.

However, we would ask you to be cautious, especially after the incident with Yogventures.

Featuring a vibrant-colored open-world and non-linear gameplay, Areal puts players in a post-apocalyptic world affected by a mysterious element brought to the surface of earth by a fallen meteoroid.

Driven by the choices made by the players, Areal is expected to get delivered by Sept. 2015 across Xbox One, Playstation 4, Windows PC, Mac, and Linux.
