SWTOR: Legacy Storage Detailed

By   /   Jul 17, 2014

BioWare has posted some details regarding Star Wars: The Old Republic’s legacy storage, a system that will debut with the Galactic Strongholds expansion pack.

Posting on the game’s official forums, BioWare Community Manager Eric Musco highlighted that players will be able to obtain legacy storage for free by completing the introductory stronghold mission. Legacy storage will also be craftable and the chances of it appearing on the Cartel Market (the game’s cash shop) is pretty high.

Musco noted that adding another Legacy storage to a Stronghold will not increase storage space. Adding more Legacy storage “units” will instead just add another access point, similar to how the cargo hold works right now.

To increase the size, players will have to add more bays. Legacy storage comes with one bay unlocked by default but can have a total 80 slots. These extra slots have to be purchased by the player with credits or Cartel Coins.

As for whether players can transfer Bind on Pickup (BoP) items through Legacy Storage, Musco said that BioWare is still working on that and an answer shall be given soon.

More details on Legacy Store have been promised to be revealed soon.

The Galactic Strongholds expansion pack is scheduled for release this summer. The DLC will enable players to live on multiple planets and “choose a prestigious apartment in the heart of the faction’s capital world, live in style among the high-rollers of Nar Shaddaa, or both by owning multiple Strongholds.” These Strongholds can then be shown off to friends by inviting them over.
