Mortal Kombat X: Raiden Revealed in Latest Trailer
The latest reveal trailer released for Mortal Kombat X features the thunder god Raiden.
At EVO 2014 today, Mortal Kombat co-creator and franchise director Ed Boon took the stage to unveil Raiden as the latest roster addition to the new installment.
Every character in the new Mortal Kombat X title will feature three different fighting styles. Players can choose one during the selection process according to their own preferred play-style. In the case of Raiden, he has Thunder God, Displacer and Storm Lord.
The Thunder God style allows him to finish off combos with “crazy electricity blasts,” while the Displacer style focuses on Raiden’s teleporting abilities. From the video it actually makes it really easy to come in from behind and either add to an ongoing combo or simply surprise the opponent. The final Storm Lord style gives Raiden the ability to drop “bombs” in the arena and connect them with damaging electricity.
Despite the catchy name, the Storm Lord style looks to be a tad boring compared to the first two. Additionally compared to the last Mortal Kombat title, Raiden seems quicker on his feet.
Mortal Kombat X will release for the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One platform sometime in the year 2015.
