No Man’s Sky Is Meant To Be Played Alone, Says Game’s Creator
No Man’s Sky, since its reveal at Sony’s E3 conference has been getting a lot of attention from the media due to its colorful and vast universe, but there was one question on everyone’s mind – will there be any possibility to travel together with friends through the game’s universe.
In a new interview, founder of Hello Games, Sean Murray answers that question by saying that players will encounter one another upon their travels, but they will not be able to team up, as it is not the core element of the game.
He continues on to say that the game takes you to beautiful locations, which gives you such great feel and challenge that can only be experienced when you are playing alone.
However, players who like to play with their friends and family only, will not be disappointed, as Murray said that there will be a multiplayer mode in No Man’s Sky, but more on that will be discussed later.
The focus of the game is on exploration and mostly, exploration is fun, when going in alone as it gives players’ a sense of connectivity with the places, which they will not get upon doing it with their friends.
The game’s world is extremely vast and players will start on different corners of it, and Murray noted that most of the players will make it their objective to reach the center of the game’s world because that in itself is a very difficult thing to achieve and will require a lot of effort and time from the players.
No Man’s Sky is set to release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2015.
